A crowded Sunday at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a favorite of mine when I lived nearby.

Crossroads Cafe in Cynthia's neck of the woods — Windsor Terrace in Brooklyn. With apples in the basket and assortment of food, it's these kind of places that make the neighborhood.

Tom's Diner in Prospect Heights has been around since the 1930s. Tom's son now runs the place and hands out cookies and coffee to patrons waiting outside.
